COVID-19

* Infection control has always been a top priority for our office. We have been taking precautions since prior to 2019 flu season. If you were here with a sick child during this time, you may have seen us wearing masks and giving masks to sick children as well as sterilizing rooms after each patient. Our infection control processes have continued so that when you receive care, it is both safe and comfortable for patients and families. Our office follows infection control recommendations made by the American Academy of Pediatrics and the CDC as well as IDPH. We follow the activities of these agencies so that we are up to date on any new ruling or guidance that may be issued.

*Some of the new implementations are as follows:

*We screen sick patients over the phone prior to appointments given.

* We have now separate waiting areas for wellness and sickness, as well as separate check in and check outs when/if needed. When needed to sick patients will be kept separate in a new completely secure waiting room that has it's own separate entrance.

*toy room will be closed until further notice.

*We encourage you to please bring your own toy or activity to keep your child entertained during the visit if needed.

*When patients arrive they are brought back as soon as possible to exam rooms to prevent the spread of infections and that way we avoid spending any time in the waiting room.

*Our Building has been checking temperatures for patients at the entrance and providing masks if needed.

*As always we encourage that if a parent is sick please try to designate another adult to bring the child to appointments.

* We offer telemedicine visits via Zoom when appropriate, and if your insurance covers the services.

Maintaining Wellness is Key

  • Make sure that you schedule your annual physical and exam yearly. Preventative medicine is key to keep your child healthy.
  • Make sure you are up to date on all required vaccines!
  • Don't let your child get behind on needed vaccines and be at risk of these very common frequent infections.

Don't forget your Flu Vaccine!

*We will start giving Flu Vaccines September. Call the office to schedule your appointment!

  • Vaccines for the flu season are premade by the manufacturer and pre ordered by providers.
  • Limited number of vaccines available. Please call ahead to get on the list as we save doses for those who have been added to the waiting list.
  • Influenza is a very common infection during fall and winter months.
  • As you are aware symptoms of COVID-19 and influenza can overlap and both infections are highly contagious.
  • Whenever a child is sick they can be more susceptible to other infections, so we strongly encourage all patients and their families to be vaccinated for influenza on a yearly basis.
  • This year with the added risk of COVID-19 we expect this infection to be prominent during this fall and winter, so this year will be of extra importance to be vaccinated for influenza.
